A Handshake Maybe The Reason You Lost That Job, Learn The Right Way To

Most times the manner of doing things is what determines the result and not just the action itself.

A good handshake in whichever context has the power to both diminish the impact of a negative impression and to make a positive interaction even better.

Everyone has an afinity for confidence (not arrogance) especially CEOs and employers, always keep this in mind especially in an interview context.

Knowing this is one step forward, the next step is the "how"

1. Reach Out First
Reaching out first speaks confidence in volumes, don't just be nervous or forceful about it. The best distance to reach out is between four and six feet out.

2. Lock eyes
Don't make it creepy gradually lock eyes as you extend your hand.

3. Grip right
Put your hand out, tilt the fingers down and scoop up into the handshake—instead of just sticking your fingers out and letting the other person grab it in a way that you get a full palm-to-palm contact.

4. Hold on firmly
Carry your grip through, do not suddenly release your grip but grasp the other hand firmly.

5. Pump The Hand
Do not just hold, give a pump or two or three.

6. Release!
Let go not to suddenly but comfortably.
Note that the world does not stand still just because of a handshake be conscious of your enviroment as you shake. And stay positive throughout even if your handshake was not appreciated.

Do it all over again when the interview is done leave a positive summary of the interview as you reach out don't be overcreative, stay true to yourself.

Don't forget the goal is for your handshake to communicate confidence especially on a first impression as a weak grip indicates low confidence.Very few people know how cruscial the firm handshake is ignoring it might make an applicant seem disinterested or careless.
